Please join us in celebrating the essential role lead batteries play in our everyday lives. Lead batteries provide over 75 percent of the world’s energy storage capacity. In the future, lead batteries will play a larger role in helping renewable energy storage facilities reliably deliver clean energy to more people.
In addition to machines, lead batteries also power the economy. In 2016, the U.S. lead battery industry enabled more than 95,000 jobs and contributed more than $28 billion in total economic output to the national economy. On National Battery Day and every day, there are many good reasons to celebrate this technology that is essential today and for years to come.
“Our industry believes Battery Day is a day to celebrate,” said Lisa Dry, director of strategic communications at Battery Council International and the Essential Energy Everyday communications initiative. “Batteries play a growing and essential role in further electrifying our world and helping to mitigate climate change.”
Lead batteries go beyond the everyday. They bridge from today’s capabilities to tomorrow’s possibilities.
